Summary: It’s never a good thing when the coffee runs out, but some occasions are worse than others.

Getting stuck in the Hub during lockdown hadn’t seemed a problem at first. It was just the two of them since the rest of the team were out on a retrieval and it was nice having the place to themselves for once. Even the Rift was quiet; only one alert which the others easily dealt with.

But twenty hours into a forty-eight hour lockdown, they’d run out of coffee. Ianto’s behaviour had been getting steadily more erratic ever since.

Headaches, mood swings, irritability… Ianto going through caffeine withdrawal was no fun at all.

Now Jack was suffering from Ianto withdrawal.

I'm not sure which would be the worse withdrawal to have to go through. But, wouldn't Jack be suffering through them both? I can't picture him going without either for more than a couple hours.

I think Jack's 51st century metabolism can cope better with caffeine withdrawal than it can with Ianto withdrawal.

The rest of the team will be waiting outside with emergency coffee when the lockdown ends!

Ianto has a splitting headache, sex is the last thing he feels like, poor boy! (I sympathise, I've had a migraine for two days.)

Jack will survive. Ianto's not sure if he will.

Thankfully, they won't be without coffee for too long. Ianto had bought a fresh supply, but he'd been overloaded so he took the perishables down into the Hub first, got busy and never had a chance to fetch the rest of the shopping from the Tourist Office before the Hub accidentally went into lock-down. That's my excuse for the lack of coffee, lol!

It's been a bad experience for Jack. On top of Ianto and coffee withdrawal, he is now mentally traumatised. Ianto is quite scary when deprived of coffee!

LMAO! Poor Jack... you know, just out of scientific curiosity, you really need to elaborate more on Ianto Caffeine Withdrawal behaviors... :) A proper manual on how to deal with him would be good :D

Keep well away from Ianto unless you have coffee. If you have an offering of coffee, then approach slowly, put coffee down and beat a hasty retreat. Otherwise you might get flattened. *grins*

LOL! Ianto is mostly harmless, it's just when he's coffee deprived that he gets a little unpredictable. ;)

Tell me Jack didn't suggest some way of taking Ianto's mind off the withdrawal?

I can't believe Ianto would be so careless as to keep so little coffee around (even his punishment instant would do in a pinch, right?). Seems very uncharacteristically disorganised of him. He's only got himself to blame.

He went shopping, but most of the groceries are still in the car. Which is in the garage. Which is outside the lockdown area. So near and yet so far! If he hadn't been dragged away from unloading the car, they wouldn't be in this situation!

You know Jack did just that. Now he's hiding in fear of Ianto's wrath!

Ah, I see. So it's Jack's fault. This makes perfect sense.

Of course he did, and was probably threatened with castration. Given the enormity of the wrath of a decaffeinated Ianto, that seems reasonable, and definitely something to fear

Yes, Ianto would not have been thinking clearly. Of course, with Jack, anything Ianto lopped off would grow back, so he wouldn't be permanently less of a man...
