A/N: A pair of drabbles.

Dee had always played the field. Girls or guys; didn’t matter provided they were hot. His own good looks and effortless charm made it easy for him to pull anyone he fancied.

He wasn’t sure when that had changed.

Sure, his new partner was hot enough to get his attention, at least in the looks department. He’d quickly proved resistant to Dee’s charms though. Maybe that was why he’d become determined to win Ryo; he was a challenge, Dee wasn’t used to having to work so hard.

Didn’t matter now though. It was Ryo or no one.

Dee was hooked.

OoOoOoOoO

Ryo was confused. He was straight. Completely straight. He ignored the little voice in the back of his mind that whispered, “Liar. You know what you are, you just don’t want to admit it.”

He didn’t understand why Dee kept pouncing on him, kissing and groping him at every opportunity. He wished Dee would just give it up and leave him alone. Except, that was another lie. When Dee kissed him, it was like nothing he’d ever felt before. His legs turned to jelly and he couldn’t even stand up. He didn’t want Dee to ever stop.

Ryo was hooked.

Oh, these guys! They still have a long way to go, although it is already crystal clear where this way will lead them. Well, it least it SHOULD be clear to them, but Ryo is still doing a good job fighting the inevitable! ;D

In my head, Ryo has been determinedly denying he's gay his entire adult life. That, to me, is why the manga is called FAKE. That's Ryo 'I'm completely straight' Maclean, pretending to be something he's not. Deep down, he knows he's lying to himself, he just can't stop because the truth is too scary to accept. Until Dee finally breaks down the defences Ryo has constructed and helps Ryo to stop being afraid of being who he really is.

Nice contrast. I like how they are both somewhat self aware and somewhat in denial.

People and emotions are complicated, they're both still confused. Dee knows what he wants but not why. Ryo is just busy trying to convince himself that he doesn't want Dee..
