Summary: Tosh is stuck babysitting her friends’ children.

A/N: For jsks’s prompt ‘Helping Tosh babysit’

A/N2: Set about a month before my drabble ‘Christmas Delivery’. I forgot I’d written this, it’s been lurking amongst a bunch on drabbles waiting to be posted.

Tosh, heavily pregnant with her and Owen’s first child, had been lumbered with babysitting duty because Jack claimed it would be good practice for her.

Anwen was three and into everything, while Meriel, at ten months, was alternating between high-speed crawling and rather precarious attempts at walking, all of which was making Tosh feel rather frazzled.

Just as she was beginning to wonder if she’d be able to cope with looking after her own child, due in less than two months, help arrived.

Settled on the playroom couch, sipping tea, Tosh could finally relax.

Fluffs, it seemed, made excellent babysitters!

Aw, poor Tosh! And yay for Fluffs!

People with only one child don't realize how tiring two can be, especially at over seven months pregnant. Jack really wasn't thinking on this one. Does he not remember how HE felt at this stage of pregnancy? No wonder Tosh was questioning her abilities to cope.

Jack didn't have much choice - there was a Rift alert, everyone was needed, Tosh was the only one who couldn't go on the mission and someone had to watch the kids. it was an emergency situation, he wouldn't have done it to her otherwise. Besides, he knew the Fluffs were there, Nosy already looks after Meriel at home so he knew Tosh would have help. Now Tosh knows that she'll have Dizzy to help with her own baby, she's starting to feel more confident about coping with motherhood.

Ah, that's different than Jack just thinking it would be good practice for her. Of course Tosh can't go out in the field, so this was the better solution.

I think in most situations, someone else would have stayed behind with Tosh to help with the kids, but there would have to be times when all able-bodied members of the team were needed in the field and this was one of them. It just happened to coincide with Tosh having doubts about whether she could cope with being a mother. Now she knows she won't be doing it all by herself because she'll have the support of her family Fluff, so she'll feel more confident.

Nosy is brilliant with Meriel, Dizzy is learning fast and will be ready when Tosh's baby is born to take up baby-watching duties.

Well, it was an emergency, Tosh can't go out on a Rift alert in her condition, so she had to take care of the kids. I think Jack knew the Fluffs would help. Nosy had=s been helping look after Meriel since she was born. This experience will help Tosh feel more confident about being a mother.

They showed Tosh that she's never alone, there will always be someone willing to help out. She'll have Dizzy at home and everyone at the Hub will lend a hand, when they're not out on a Rift alert.
