Summary: A little coda to my fic ‘Fixed Points’
Disclaimer: I don’t own Torchwood, or the characters.
A/N: Yesterday was 5 years since THAT day, so I wrote this, to prove to everyone that it was just a bad dream. Prompt used is ‘Last Forever’
Since becoming immortal, Jack had found himself dreading the eternal life that stretched out before him. It had seemed an utterly bleak prospect, filled with nothing but loss and loneliness; he couldn’t imagine anything worse.
He’d taken to trying not to think beyond today; if he had to live forever, perhaps it would be easier to just take it one day at a time.
But now everything had changed. Thanks to the Doctor, he wasn’t the lone immortal; he was one of a pair.
He and Ianto were two halves of a whole, sharing a love that would last forever.

Date: 2014-07-10 05:24 pm (UTC)I'm always glad to know my little fics can give people a bit of a boost when they need it, it makes my little hobby (which is rapidly taking over my life) worthwhile.
Five years, it really doesn't seem possible! If CoE had never existed, and a proper script had been written for Torchwood showing them picking up the pieces after Exit Wounds, rebuilding the team etc., we'd probably be looking forward to season 8 by now. Torchwood's potential was squandered on a substandard script written as an original drama. Way to destroy a TV show that was just finding its stride. I prefer to ignore CoE, and even Exit Wounds. I'm determined to keep the team alive and happy!

Date: 2014-07-10 10:01 pm (UTC)I've been in the fandom since the first rumours of a Doctor Who spinoff started circulating. Time really has flown, but I refuse to sccept CoE as canon, therefore it didn't happen and Ianto is alive and well. All my action figures agree.
Luckily I still have two more drabbles written for this prompt, becausxe I didn't get anything written for Torchwood today.
