Last week's fic was great fun, so this week I'm going for a complete mood change - angst, violence, peril, hopefully a happy ending but I'm not counting on it! So with no further ado...

Week Five's Fic of the Week is *drum roll*

Not sure how much reading time I'll have this week, so it's another short one - five chapters of a decent length. The summary says: “When Ianto Jones fell through the Rift during a negative spike in activity, Captain Jack Harkness knew he had to get him back.”  Sounds exciting! It's rated very hard R on account of violence and adult situations, so be warned, this is not a fluffy fic!

Started reading this one. Not sure I will get through the first chapt. tonight. Not slept well in 2 days. Five hours a night. GEEZ! So tired. I have been checking out beginnings of some of the others you posted. How silly, then make short-cuts I keep in a folder for when I can EVER read them all.

This one looks so interesting though I am scared of what is to come from the description and I remember the episode with the boy who was sucked up and the rift and return a long time later as an old man. It was horrifing! So far this is better, but I am worried.

I've read the first chapter and it IS worrying. Ianto is changed. On the other hand, it's Ianto and I'm hopeful Jack will look after him and make everything better *pets Ianto*

Sorry you're sleeping badly, hopefully that will improve. I'm labouring under a migraine today, so don't expect much coherency, lol!

Oh finally slept in today and feel much better. I want to do a bunch of laundry before it is too late.

Two friend's of Alex's is over here and I just pray they don't destroy the house. lol! I ask them not to, but you know kids. :/

Yeah I was ok with the fic until the vampire stuff, not so sure I like it. I'm having a hard time reading it. That is not our Ianto. :(
I hope Jack saves him. If you think of it, let me know if it ends well and I might finish it. I want to go back to some of the fluffy fic you posted that I haven't read yet. :D

I'll let you know when I get to the end. I've read two chapters so far and things are not looking good for our Ianto (though I'm still hoping it will get better). I was just in the mood for something not-fluffy this week, but I'll try for fluffy or smutty next week, lol!

Glad you slept better. I went to bed early last night, got more sleep than usual but my head is still bad =(

I know what you mean, I get into moods for different fics too.

Wow I read a "very" smutty one on a website I ended up on, just following my nose around different sites and WOW!...it something...I felt like a naughty girl reading it. It was a threesome with Jack, I anto, and "Gwen!"...but she was not like the usual Gwen and I think the post was mainly for a sexual thrill, turn-on! lol!

I moved on out there after that one. Everyone was asleep so I got away with reading it.

Smut is good, but I just can't read Jack/Ianto/Gwen, it just feels so wrong to me. Gwen has a boyfriend/husband and should stick with him. I like Jack/Ianto/Tosh, Jack/Ianto/John Hart, Jack/Ianto/PC Andy, even sometimes Jack/Ianto/Owen, but I just really don't like Gwen. Lol! I'm rather picky, aren't I?

Well it was just one of those things I came upon! I don't like Gwen in it either.

You are a BAD girl too I see. LOL! Yeah I like all you named, very kinky, 3 doing it together. I needed a fan after I read that one.

The only one I think I might not like you named was Jack/Ianto/Owen. Owen? Just not sure about him, not sure about Andy either, but I'm picky. Like Tosh with them, that would be so erotic.


Poor Tosh never seemed to have relationships...though she did have sex alot. I would have liked to see Tosh get together with Owen, but with a story and then the smut. lol! Dumb-ass RTD wouldn't let them get together except maybe at the end when they died! It made me cry and was well done, but I just wish there could have been some other way.

Also, Owen was "actually" already dead when Tosh tried to get together with him. They wouldn't have been able to sleep together, Owen was kind of a freak to me after that too....

.... Again, RTD! You are such a DICKHEAD! sorry.......

I think a lot depends on the writer. There's a chaptered fic by Pippychick on ff.net that develops Jack/Ianto/PC Andy which is really good. invisible_lift has also written that threesome. I haven't read his yet but he's a really great writer and I love his stuff. I don't like Ianto/Owen, that doesn't work for me, they're more like brothers. Same with Ianto/Tosh in most cases though occasionally it works, but throw Jack into the mix and in most cases it seems to work (I won't go near Ianto/Gwen - that's just all kinds of wrong!) I also love Owen/John Hart and Owen/PC Andy. I am such a very NAUGHTY girl, aren't I?
There aren't enough girls in Torchwood to put in threesomes with our boys though. Kathy Swanson works better with Tosh. I guess Martha would work, though I prefer to have Jack and Martha and Ianto as friends, it's refreshing in a way for Jack to have a relationship that is purely based on friendshhip and respect.

Owen and Tosh was very much a missed opportunity, but then again, so was most of Torchwood - it seemed to me that all the main characters kept getting pushed aside for more about Gwen, who to me was the least interesting character and the only one I couldn't identify with in any respect.

I never had heard of or read fanfiction before the Net. I'm not homophobic of course, but I never even thought about reading stuff about anyone but heterosexual couples. All or most TV in the States was het. when I was growing up. Eventually started seeing show around gay life, but kissing, no way. In fact, it used to gross me out to see same sex couples kiss....probably the way I was raised, homosexuality is considered a sin in the Bible belt where I live.

I am more open minded about it now than I used to be and for some reason when "Lord of the Rings" not sure when, but sometime after I saw the movies, I noticed people putting together and I was just curious about it. My favorites of the movie were Sam and Frodo and I really liked and could understand how they could love each other in many ways.

I saw Torchwood clips on YouTube and could not believe how much I loved the realtionships, Jack&Ianto mostly, though I really liked the Jack&Jack episode they did...wow! what a kiss! So sweet.

I tried to had this stuff from Michael for a long time because he is made sick by the thoughts of two guys together though now that he knows and even watched Miracle Day with me, I think he understands why I like it. It's the love and the relationships...well the sex stuff he still abhores. He doesn't know I read the fanfic, well some but I told him I only really like Jack and Ianto. I would never tell him about threesomes! lol! I'm probably going to hell...just kidding.

I believe being gay is hereditary not a choice, and so who am I to judge. God will take care of that as he will judge me for whatever... I had a gay friend once, a male, and we were friends, I understood this was just who he was and he needed someone as a friend who would not ridcule him for it. I tried to be that for him, but I was young and I hope I said the right things to him.

I'm strange, I still get grossed out by certain ones they put together in stories. I just really love Jack and Ianto. They were special to me. The rest I really liked like they were male and female. Strange, I wonder why het stories are rarely as good as the gay kind?

I was looking around for maybe some people who were interested in NCIS as is...no pretending people were gay because frankly I love the way they have it.

I want Ziva and Tony together and I want Abby and Tim together...they have been hinted at those 2 couples for a long time now. :)...and well Gibbs is straight had a family once and I just want to see that sweetie happy. Oh well, just felt like telling you this. :)

I'd never really thought about gay sex until Torchwood fanfiction - Up to then, I always put couples together as male and female (and I still do with many shows). I'm very pro Gay rights though, and always have been, though I'm also technically a Christian. I believe we are the way we are meant to be. People are born gay and should be free to love the people they love. Fanfiction has definitely opened my eyes though - threesomes can be fun and sexy!

Speaking of threesomes, how do you feel about Jack/Ianto/Ianto? (No, I didn't make a mistake there, there really are TWO Iantos, lol). I found a story the other day called Gemini, which was just really good. Now I want to find a Ianto/Jack/Jack story, but I don't know if there are any. Two Jacks might be too much for even Ianto to handle!

Yeah, I prefer het couples in NCIS myself (though I have read some Gibbs/Tony in Torchwood/NCIS crossover fics). Speaking of NCIS, new series starts here on Wednesday night, so I'm really looking forward to that, practically bouncing with excitement! Seems like forever since the last series ended. I'd like to see Tony and Ziva get together, she'd keep him in his place. I like Abby and Tim, but I'm not sure if that would work longterm. One thing I love about Abby is that she's just so open minded. She's attracted to people for who they are, looks don't really seem to matter to her.
