Summary: A peep at Dee’s thoughts, angry that JJ’s sudden appearance and subsequent behaviour may have jeopardised his chances of seducing Ryo.

Word Count: A double drabble, 200 words exactly.

Written For: Challenge #81: Amnesty at fan_flashworks – using Challenge 43: Not What It Looks Like.

A/N: I have no idea what tense this is written in. If anyone knows, please tell me; I can only identify past or present tense, anything else I have no clue, lol!

‘I’m a cop, I’m a cop, I can’t kill him, it’s against the law,’ Dee repeated over and over in his head, fists clenched and teeth gritted, hanging on to his self control by his fingernails.

God dammit, why couldn’t JJ accept that he wasn’t interested? Every damn time they met he found himself trying to fend off the unwanted attention. It was like dealing with a small, excitable puppy crossed with an octopus. Maybe a touch of leech in there too, considering how tightly JJ could cling. For a little guy, he was stronger than he looked.

And what was with the kissing? Right in front of Ryo too! Fuck, how the hell was he going to explain that to his partner? Man, he was having the worst day! So much for thinking he’d escaped JJ for good by moving.

‘Okay, guess it’s time for some damage control, if it isn’t already too late.’

“Ryo, this isn’t what you think it is!”

On the other hand, was that hurt he saw in those beautiful dark eyes? Could it be that Ryo was more interested than he let on?

‘Well,’ Dee congratulated himself smugly, ‘that’s something I can work with.’

I posted it to fan_flashworks, but I hadn't got around to putting it on my journals once the challenge ended. I've been kind of busy with other stuff so I'm a bit late. You know the rules - Don't post elsewhere until the challenge ends. Well, the mods put up the list but I was in the middle of betaing a fic for a friend, plus trying to get drabbles written for the latest tw100 challenge, so this one kept being pushed aside due to lack of time. Finally managed to get it posted everywhere today.

On the bright side, I should hopefully be posting my fic for the Flight challenge on the community tomorrow, barring unforeseen circumstances. I finally got a good idea and got it written. It'll get me my author tag, yay!

It's not too long a wait though, just one more fic and you'll be there =)

I have to go and request mine, I didn't have time when i posted ity because I had to go and do chores. Yes, even at my advanced age I have to do chores *sigh* Sometimes I wonder what the point of being an adult is. All you get is more responsibilities and now I'm too grown up to avoid them.

I'm really pleased with my Flight fic. I did a bit of re-editing it before posting to the community but I think it turned out well.

Hehe, now maybe Dee knows a bit of how Ryo feels with all that unwanted attention.... or maybe not... as the ending shows perhaps Dee's attention to Ryo isn't all that unwanted, Ryo just doesn't know it yet :-)

Poor Dee has being trying to fend off JJ since the police academy. JJ is rather obsessed with Dee and just doesn't accept that Dee really isn't interested. Unlike Dee though, JJ really goes over the top, literally throwing himself at Dee every time he sees him, often knocking Dee off his feet. Poor boy is always bruised and battered from JJ's misguided 'affection'. He's more dangerous than the criminals. And he's jealous of Ryo. This was the first time Ryo and JJ met, and Ryo definitely wasn't happy about JJ jumping all over Dee, although he still tried to deny what he was feeling, putting most of it down to the fever he was suffering from at the time.

Dee does pounce on Ryo, but usually in private and only because half the time Ryo lets him get away with it, so Dee's kind of getting mixed signals. Ryo will let Dee kiss him, then freak out a bit if Dee tries to take things further. Or Bikky will storm in and lay into Dee. Or one time Carol walked in and interrupted. And one time JJ broke down the bedroom door... I have so many more great scenes to write about ;)
