Summary: For the first time he can remember, Ianto had the flat completely to himself.

A/N: Double drabble.




Ianto stood in the middle of the spacious living room, feeling a little lost. The flat was so quiet! Thinking about it, he realised he couldn’t remember the last time he’d been there by himself.


It was Jack’s turn at work, and Ianto had dropped him off there after the two of them had taken the kids to school. The twins had been attending pre-school, but today was their first full day at primary school.


Just like Meriel before them, they’d been so eager to meet the other kids that they’d barely given their parents a passing glance. Ianto and Jack had sat in the car for a while, hugging each other and sniffling about their babies growing up too fast, before deciding they should get on with their day.


After leaving Jack at the Hub, Ianto had done the supermarket shopping, come home, put everything away, got the laundry going, cleared up the breakfast dishes, and done a spot of cleaning before deciding to fix himself something for lunch…


Slowly he began to smile. The Fluffs had gone to the Hub with Jack, and the rest of the afternoon was his to enjoy in peace, completely free from interruptions!

Sounds good, perfect peace. I love that feeling of time to myself. However I have the feeling that Ianto has just put the mockers on his hopes for peace, and that something will crop up to spoil it. Unless it's Jack of course, which will mean fun but hardly peace and quiet.

Hopefully Ianto will get a few hours of peace before he has to collect the twins from school.
