Summary: St Patrick’s Day in New York tends to be a busy time for everyone in law enforcement.

Setting: Possibly before the manga.

A/N: I decided I’d try using the weekly Torchwood drabble prompts for FAKE as well. The prompt used here is Leprechauns.

St. Patrick’s Day in New York was a busy time. Between the parade and the partying, there were usually fights, drunken revellers, pickpockets and purse-snatchers to deal with.

This was one of the more unusual crime scenes the detectives of the 27^th precinct had come across though: two dead men dressed as Leprechauns. It wasn’t clear whether they’d been murdered or were the victims of a tragic accident, but Dee wasn’t looking forward to investigating.

“Trying to find witnesses is gonna be a nightmare. Everyone’s seein’ Leprechauns whether they’re there or not.”

“I blame the green beer,” Drake muttered morosely.

Dee and Drake drew the short straws, lol! Poor boys. Ryo probably would have volunteered, so I think this is pre-Ryo.

I've never known the boys of the 27th precinct to have an easy case, lol!

Drake is the perpetual tagalong, always short of money and scrounging off the other detectives. There's something mournful about him, like he's resigned to never having life go the way he'd like. I feel sorry for him, lol!

Trust Dee and Ryo and the men of the 27th to get the weird cases lol! Only would have been better if binky got carol to put bright green make up on him and have him running about shouting he was a leprechaun.

totally4ryo was responsible for my introduction to FAKE too, reading Slipping Through, her FAKE/Torchwood crossover. I've got the seven original manga volumes, they've been very well read, I'm currently reading them again and waiting for scanlations of the two new Backstage Pass stories, so excited that there will be more to read soon! =D

This is my 4th FAKE drabble, there will be more, I have a couple more written already. =)
