Double Drabble: Wallowing

Summary: Ianto has exchanged one kind of wallowing for another.

A/N: Double drabble.




Ianto had done the self-pity bit after the execution of what remained of Lisa. He’d spent a month wallowing at home before Jack had allowed him to return to work, then dragged him out to the Beacons to get tenderised by cannibals. Then he’d wallowed some more, getting halfway sloshed most nights at his local, until he’d taken revenge on Jack by sending him through a portal to a lifetime of slavery on another world.


Revenge hadn’t felt so sweet after the fact, so he’d gone to the rescue, then snogged Jack senseless in the SUV. Maybe he’d been a bit drunk still, and maybe he’d just wanted to feel something after being numb inside for so long. Whatever. He hadn’t wanted Jack, or anyone else, to feel sorry for him, hadn’t wanted to feel sorry for himself any longer. He’d deserved Jack’s condemnation, and his suspension, but he couldn’t keep wallowing forever. That was no way to live.


Was what he was doing now, with Jack, any better, escaping his pain by wallowing in a world of pleasure? It was only supposed to be a one-time thing, but it was still happening, and Ianto didn’t want it to stop.

Wallow away Ianto, you deserve the respite. He'll come out of it as his relationship with Jack develops, and he'll become the strong confident man we know and love
