Jack grimaced, holding his back with one hand while rubbing his distended belly with the other.


“Are you okay?” Ianto asked. Jack was almost seven-and-a-half months pregnant, and although he’d seemed to breeze through the first few months, now he was in pain more often than not. It made Ianto feel weirdly guilty. He’d done this to his husband. Not intentionally, true, but it was still his fault.


“No, I’m not okay. This is exactly why I swore I’d never get pregnant again.” Jack waddled over to the sofa in his office and sank onto it, lifting his feet one at a time onto the footstool with a heartfelt groan. “I can live with the weird food cravings, not fitting into most of my clothes, not being able to see my feet, among other things, and needing help putting my socks on. I can even live with the heartburn and the swollen ankles. But does this demonic entity have to spend twenty-four hours a day kicking, punching, and headbutting my innards, while rearranging my organs? It’s like being inhabited by an obsessive-compulsive interior designer!”


“I’m sorry. Is there anything I can do?”


Jack sighed. “Help me up? Gotta pee again.”

Exactly why I decided at an early age I'd never have children. As I have a very low pain threshold, I knew 'I'd end up hating the :little darling: Not long to go Jack, and you are much stronger than I could ever be

I have a high pain threshold, I've needed it, but I have no maternal instincts whatsoever, and never had the slightest desire to be a mother. I have no problem inflicting parenthood on Jack and Ianto though ;)
