A/N: Double drabble.
“But it’s not fair!” Gwen complained. “How come Ianto always gets to go with you when you check on alien residents?”
“Because they’re used to him. He helped get most of them set up with their paperwork and housing, even found some of them jobs,” Jack explained. “They like it when he visits.”
“Well I think we should all take turns. That way they’ll get to know all of us, in case there’s an emergency and you two aren’t available.”
Jack sighed; there was no reasoning with Gwen when she got that stubborn look on her face. She hated being excluded from things. “Ianto, would you mind if I took Gwen with me this time?”
“Not at all. Tell Hetty I’ll stop by soon for a chat.”
Hetty, who looked like an elderly lady thanks to camouflage technology, was disappointed not to see Ianto.
“Oh, but I wanted to show him how well the slime room is coming along! He was so helpful with his ideas. Perhaps you’d like to see, dear!” A strong hand gripped Gwen’s dragging her to the basement.
She emerged fifteen minutes later, dripping slime. “Why didn’t you warn me?”
Jack shrugged. “You wouldn’t have listened.”
