Summary: Jack finds out the hard way that weather forecasters don’t always get it right.

A/N: Double drabble.




“We’re a bit exposed to the elements up here, aren’t we?” Ianto pulled his coat more tightly around him against the brisk, icy wind as he stared out across Cardiff from Jack’s rooftop of choice.


“Invigorating, isn’t it?”


That wasn’t the word Ianto would have chosen. Despite the heavy coat, gloves, hat, and scarf, he already felt chilled through. The wind seemed to be finding every tiny gap in his clothing.


“I’d rather be inside where it’s warm.”


“But look at the view!”


“Already seen it, thanks. I’m going back down; you should too, I don’t like the look of those clouds.”


“It’ll be fine; I checked. The weather forecast said overcast, dry, with a brisk wind.”


“Suit yourself. Just don’t say I didn’t warn you.”


Ianto was almost back to the stairwell when the clouds opened, pelting down stinging hailstones the size of peas, not huge but plenty big enough to hurt. He broke into a run as he heard an anguished yelp from behind him, but before he reached the door, Jack sprinted past, practically diving through just ahead of him.


Ianto closed the door behind them, shutting out the weather.


“Maybe next time you’ll listen to me.”

That's a good rule for Jack. Always listen to Ianto, after all he does know everything
