Dec. 18th, 2021 04:09 pmTitle: Carelessness
Author:
badly_knitted
Characters: Owen, Ianto.
Rating: G
Written For: Challenge 687: Dock at
tw100.
Spoilers: Nada.
Summary: Owen is in trouble with Ianto.
Disclaimer: I don’t own Torchwood, or the characters.
A/N: Double drabble.
“Lighten up!” Owen groused. “It’s just a scratch.”
“Really?” Ianto stared at Torchwood’s medic, one eyebrow raised, then turned his attention to the eighteen-inch gouge in the SUV’s passenger-side door, caused by Owen misjudging how much room he had when steering the vehicle into a narrow alleyway. “I wonder, would you feel the same way if it was your personal car?”
“I drive a Porsche,” Owen pointed out. “It’s classy, expensive, but this thing was built to handle whatever gets thrown at it. If it gets a few dents and scratches in the process, that’s only to be expected. The things we come up against don’t always play nice.”
“I’m aware of that. But this,” Ianto gestured at the scratch, “wasn’t caused by a rogue weevil, alien invaders, or dangerous technology. It was caused by you trying to drive the SUV into an alley that was too narrow for it, after I told you it wouldn’t fit. Now I have to get the scratch repaired and replace both wing mirrors.”
“What’re you gonna do, fire me?”
“No. I’ll just dock the cost of repairs from your wages. Maybe that’ll teach you to listen when you’re told not to do something.”
