A/N: Double drabble.
Blue lights flashing, siren blaring, the SUV tore through central Cardiff, far exceeding the speed limit, ignoring traffic lights and road signs, and forcing other motorists to pull over and get out of the way.
Behind the wheel, Jack focused intently on the road ahead, guiding the big, black modified Range Rover smoothly through turns, his fifty-first-century reflexes so much faster than a present-day human could boast. He loved driving fast almost as much as he loved flying, but these days, even though he had a pilot’s licence and was qualified to fly most makes of light aircraft, he didn’t often have the opportunity to take to the air. Running Torchwood took precedence over having fun.
At least he could still enjoy driving, rushing to the scene of a Rift event, hurtling through the night to deal with a rampaging Weevil, racing against time to thwart an invasion attempt… Life with Torchwood was seldom boring; almost every day there’d be a new and exciting crisis to handle, and no time to waste on obeying the rules of the road.
Ianto would probably kill him for using the lights on his way to the supermarket to do the grocery run though.
