Title: Convalescing
Fandom: BtVS
Author:
badly_knitted
Characters: Buffy, Joyce.
Rating: PG
Written Using: The dw100 prompt ‘Sick’.
Spoilers/Setting: Killed By Death.
Summary: It isn’t often Buffy gets to take time off from her duties so she’s making the most of the opportunity.
Disclaimer: I don’t own BtVS, or the characters.
A/N: Double drabble.
There are definite advantages to convalescing from the flu, Buffy decides as she relaxes in her own bed, so much comfier than the one at the hospital, in her own familiar room, with her best buds keeping her company.
Her problems aren’t over, Angelus is still out there somewhere, and sooner or later, preferably sooner, she’ll have to deal with him, but that’s a fight for another time, once she’s regained her Slayer strength.
Right now it’s daytime, which means Sunnydale’s vampires are laying low. Giles and her buds will take care of any necessary slayage until she’s fighting fit, and for once in her life she gets to order her mom around. Yeah, she probably shouldn’t, but she’s milking this for everything she can get, including crunchy peanut butter and extra jelly. She could get used to being waited on hand and foot.
It won’t last long, a few days at most, then Buffy knows she’ll get restless, itching for action; Slayers aren’t designed for lying around in bed, and anyway her mom will eventually put her foot down. That’s okay. Still, the coddling is a welcome change of pace, like a little vacation from responsibility. She’s earned it.

I actually relate to her; you have done a marvelous job of this in that regard.
