A/N: Double drabble.




Jack winced, both hands going to the small of his back. The weight he was carrying dragged at him constantly except when he was lying down so he had permanent backache, and he still had two-and-a-half months to go.


“You okay, Jack?”


“No.” Jack knew he sounded peevish, but he didn’t care. “What on earth possessed me to get pregnant again? Last time was bad enough, and that was only one baby. Carrying two is ten times worse!”


“Wasn’t exactly planned though, was it?” Ianto pointed out sympathetically. “It wasn’t deliberate, it just happened. Even if we’d been trying for another baby, twins would have never crossed my mind. There’s no history of them in my family.”


“Not in mine either.” Jack rubbed awkwardly at his back, then yelped as one of the babies kicked him in the kidney.


“What do you need? Cushion for your back, or would you rather lie down for a bit?” Ianto had set up a day bed in Jack’s office months ago, so he could rest whenever he wanted without having to go home. He no longer fit through the manhole to his old quarters. “I could give you a back rub.”


“Yes please.”

Exactly why I never wanted children. Too much of a coward. Ianto knows exactly how to make Jack feel better.
