Summary: Another mystery object falls through the Rift.

A/N: Double drabble.
“Is it supposed to vibrate like that?” Ianto asked, sounding a touch apprehensive.
Jack, standing beside him in the narrow alleyway behind the chip shop, where the Rift had deposited the latest new arrival, frowned as he glanced towards his lover.
“How should I know? I’ve never seen anything like it before.”
The item in question was a haphazard collection of vaguely metallic, pinkish grey cubes in various sizes that appeared to have been partially melted together, and it was vibrating strongly enough that even though they were still a couple of yards away, they could feel it through the soles of their shoes.
“In my experience, things that randomly start to vibrate are seldom good news. They have a disturbing tendency to explode.”
“That’s rather a sweeping generalisation. Not everything that vibrates is a bomb.”
“No, some of them are grenades, or landmines.”
“Some of them aren’t explosive devices at a…”
Jack stopped speaking as the object gave a sudden click, followed by a noise reminiscent of a handful of screws in a blender, and ending with a beep. Laughing, he went to pick it up.
“Mystery solved.”
“You know what it is now?”
“Yep! It’s an answering machine.”
