It was his idea, he was the one who’d invited her to go with him, so why was he getting cold feet now? If he didn’t want a travelling companion, he shouldn’t have asked. Donna wished he’d make up his mind. Then…


“I just want a mate.”


Had she heard that right?


“You want to mate? No way!” Okay, that did it, there was not going to be any kind of mating. Donna wasn’t that kind of girl. They weren’t even the same species!


“No, I want a friend!”


Thank heavens for that, but if he started any mating nonsense…

I think Missy was a success because she was played by a stronger actress, not someone who was trying to be a female Tenth Doctor.

I'm not sure what Jodie Whittaker is going for. I've heard mixed reviews on her character development.

It was fitting that the last we saw of her, was fulfilling the whole —without hope, without witness, without reward statement.

I almost forgot to comment on Jodie. I know she is leaving the show and RTD is coming in to "rectify" things. I'm not sure what that will mean.

Yes, I liked that.

I'm not happy about RTDs return, I don't think he's that great a writer and OI don't trust him. Just hope the next time around they pick a better actor for the Doctor. I still want Idris Elba. I think he'd be great.

So, when the Master was brought back in series 12 (I read articles). I thought this must be an earlier version. Anyway, farewell Missy.

I thought Showrunners leave because they have run out of ideas. Isn't that also why Moffatt left? It should be about great writing no matter who's producing it.

Maybe if they moved away from RTD's cronies who wrote on Torchwood or Doctor Who before, they might get some fresh ideas. Bringing RTD back just feels like re-treading old ground. They made a mistake making the Doctor female. They should accept that and get back to basics.

Apparently viewership has declined since the end of the Moffat era. So you can imagine how it is now. I'm assuming the statistics are local?

I can't believe what I'm saying. But I'm just trying to state facts.:(

It doesn't surprise me that viewers have gone down. Quality has gone down too, I watched the last New Year episode and the only thing I can remember is that Jack was in it. The other specials, I remember details and whole scenes, but the Thirteenth Doctor has left very little impression. People aren't bored with Doctor Who, we've just come to expect more than what we've been getting. The show needs new blood behind the scenes, people with vision and imagination.

It sounds like an echo of the show, that I use to know. It's disappointing. I just hope the next production team can salvage the show. That it's not just up to RTD.

I really liked the Twelfth Doctor in his last series the most.

I enjoyed most of the Twelfth Doctor's episodes, I'm easy to please. Which just makes the whole Thirteenth Doctor thing look even worse.

Technically I didn't warm up to the 12 until "Flatline". I preferred 12 with Bill. But that's because she didn't have to deal with the emotional baggage Clara went through etc. I like things simple.*shrugs*

I kind of liked the struggle they both went through. Too often such difficulties are just brushed aside or ignored.

I can still appreciate the outcome. If Matt Smith had stayed longer, he would have done the whole "dark doctor" plot that Moffat implied in series 9. It would have been interesting to have seen Clara react to that.

The Doctor meets companions at a specific time for a reason.

I'm glad Eleven didn't go so dark, in a way that had already been done with Ten in some of the last specials. Waters of Mars in particular.

That's what I was thinking. Every incarnation will have to put a baddie in their place, but we don't need the Doctor going down such a dark path ever again.

Twelve really wasn't that "dark", was he?

The Doctor is supposed to be the good guy. I didn't think Twelve was too dark. I think Thirteen is too light and fluffy.

Sometimes a companions role is to help with moral dilemmas. Otherwise, the Doctor has to explain why some things aren't that simple.

Moffat made Clara a teacher, because he was briefly a teacher. So long as there was a reason for Clara to return home.
