Summary: Drake considers how much better his life is with JJ in it.
Written Using: The dw100 prompt ‘Epoch’.

A/N: Double drabble.
These days, Drake tended to think of his life as two distinct eras: pre-JJ, where he’d been miserable much of the time, constantly getting dumped by one girl after another, and post-JJ, which was now, a time of happiness, optimism, and a previously unknown sense of security.
Work still got him down at times, with everything he saw as a detective assigned to the Serious Crimes Unit it would have been unnatural not to be affected, but he and JJ could always turn to each other for understanding and help in forgetting the horrors of their jobs.
Today had been a rough one, especially for JJ, who’d had to shoot an armed gunman already responsible for two deaths and four injuries, so instead of going out on the town as they’d previously planned, they were snuggled together under a blanket on the sofa in JJ’s penthouse apartment, watching silly romantic comedies, drinking hot chocolate, and eating popcorn.
“This is nice,” JJ murmured, his head resting on Drake’s shoulder.
“I was just thinking the same thing.” Drake moved his head just enough to brush a light kiss against JJ’s hair, hearing a sigh of contentment in response. “You make everything better.”
