Summary: Buffy is hurting from having loved and lost.

A/N: Double drabble.
Someone said once that it was better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all, but Buffy didn’t agree. She’d loved, deeply and passionately, committed her whole being to Angel, not just her heart but her soul, and it had been wonderful. Giving him her body too, sleeping with him, had seemed like the natural next step in their relationship, only it had all gone wrong. One perfect night with him and he’d lost his soul, while she’d lost the love of her young life.
Losing sucked. Her heart felt like it had been shattered into razor-sharp fragments that tore at her lungs with every breath, and she hated herself far more than she hated Angelus because she’d stripped away the most important part of Angel, his soul, leaving only the demon inhabiting his body.
Loving was heaven, but losing was like being plunged into the deepest pit of hell, far below the blazing fires, a place of cold and ice and emptiness that had never known the slightest hint of warmth.
She ached with it. Here she was, just seventeen, and her world was falling apart around her. She wished she’d never loved at all.

There was one episode where all "The Big Bad's of each season made a cameo. That was also an indicator that the series was meant to end besides Buffy being free to retire as The Slayer

Date: 2021-08-24 12:06 pm (UTC)Yeah. Just because there is a spare Slayer, Faith. They kick Buffy out of her own home? I can sort of understand Anya being hurt about Xander being injured. However, the rest of the scene didn't sit well with me. I guess that was the point.
