Summary: Jack has lost something important.

A/N: Double drabble.




Ianto walked into Jack’s office to find his lover frantically upending everything on his desk, scattering paperwork left, right, and centre. The office looked like a tornado had just passed through, and Ianto had no doubt he’d be the one left to sort out the mess.


“Jack, what the hell d’you think you’re doing? Look at this mess! I only cleaned in here this morning!”


“I can’t find it! You’ve got to help me!”


“Whatever it is you’ve lost, you’re not going to find it by making an even bigger mess. The best approach to finding a missing item is to be systematic. Now let’s start by picking up all these papers, shall we? Once they’re all in a stack you might be able to see what you’re looking for.”


Reluctantly, Jack started gathering empty folders and loose pages as Ianto did the same, stacking them out of the way. Then the rest of the items on his desk were moved one-by-one to look underneath.


“It’s still not here!”


“It might help if I knew what you’re looking for.”


“My credit card!”


Ianto rolled his eyes. “I found that when I was cleaning earlier. I put it in your wallet.”

I suspect Ianto knew all along, and was teasing Jack to make a point. Jack should really know by now to ask Ianto in he first place. Am still smiling at the image you created.

Knowing Jack, it could have been anything, so maybe Ianto knew and maybe he didn't, but Jack probably should have asked first anyway.
