Summary: Dee and Ryo were only doing their job and now a member of the public is complaining about them.

A/N: Triple drabble.
“What d’you have to say to that?” the Chief demanded as Dee finished reading the three-page long letter. It was a very angry letter, written by a very angry citizen, who thought the police, detectives Laytner and Maclean specifically, should be severely punished for… doing their job.
Ryo accepted the missive from his partner, quickly skimming through it, and frowning. “Poor spelling, worse grammar, and the punctuation is almost non-existent,” he said mildly.
“I noticed that too,” Dee agreed. “He doesn’t have his facts straight either. For one thing, we had nothin’ to do with flattenin’ his petunias, he did that himself when he fell off his ladder, and it was our suspect who ran under the ladder and knocked it off-balance, not us, so we’re not responsible for his broken arm either.”
“As for the damage to his kitchen,” Ryo added, “the suspect had this man’s wife at gunpoint, threatening to kill her. I shot him in the shoulder to disarm him, and yes, there was a fair amount of blood from that, and the bullet took out a chunk of the wall before getting embedded in a cabinet, but we can hardly be blamed for the direction our suspect ran, or for him ducking through an open doorway into the first house he came to.”
“We did tell him the NYPD would get the damage to his kitchen fixed,” Dee pointed out. “Once we got Slater cuffed, we arranged for a couple of uniforms to deliver the necessary paperwork to the homeowner, and this is the thanks we get? Next time maybe we should wait outside while a murdering scumbag slaughters someone’s loved ones because we don’t want to cause damage to their property.”
Ryo looked over the list of grievances again. “Some people are just never happy.”
