Summary: In Torchwood, days off are rare and should be enjoyed to the full when they happen.

Jack and Ianto were spending a rare day off enjoying all the fun of the fair.

They’d already been on all the best rides, twice, had candyfloss and a toffee apple each, and were now exploring the sideshows and booths.

Ianto won a stuffed monkey on the coconut shy by throwing the ball so hard he split a coconut in half.

Then Jack’s marksmanship won him a balloon that looked like the earth seen from space.

Grinning, he grabbed Ianto, and danced off down the midway singing ‘I’ve Got the World on a String’ at the top of his voice.

Thank you! I really wanted to use the prompt but I struggled to come up with an idea. I like the thought of Jack clutching his balloon and dancing Ianto down the midway though!

Jack is very... exuberant! Ianto just has to let himself be swept up by Jack's antics at times, he's such a force of nature. Bet they got some funny looks though!

That is so Jack somehow. I can totally see him and Ianto with his stuffed monkey dancing along the midway :D Loved this! I want to go to a fair with Jack and Ianto!

Being at the fair with them would be a barrel of laughs! I think they got some funny looks but I like to believe that most people would have smiled seeing them so happy and carefree. They have the weight of the world on their shoulders so much of the time, it does them good to have fun.

Its these little drabbles of them doing fun stuff that makes Jack look so much more than the series made him look. Jack CAN have fun and Ianto knows how to show him. :D

I believe Jack knows how to have fun, there just wasn't much point when he didn't have someone he could have fun doing goofy stuff with. Now he has Ianto, they can keep each other young in spirit.
