A/N: Double drabble.
Dee hovered in Ryo’s kitchen, breathing in the mouth-watering aromas filling the air as Ryo bustled around him, preparing dinner.
“Anything I can do to help?”
“You could stir the sauce, keep it from sticking.”
“I can do that.” Dee picked up the wooden spoon from the counter and slowly stirred the contents of the pot bubbling on the stove. “Mmm, smells amazing.”
“I should hope so. Just don’t try tasting it; you’ll burn your mouth.”
“No tastin’ until it’s dished up, got it.” Ryo’s warning had come just in time as Dee had been wondering if he could get away with sampling it before it was ready. Burning his mouth didn’t appeal, however, and would probably spoil his enjoyment of the meal. He could wait. He closed his eyes, inhaling the fragrant steam; Ryo was such a great cook.
“Try not to drool in the sauce,” Ryo teased. “It’s supposed to be thickening, doesn’t need more water adding.”
Dee glanced back over his shoulder, still steadily stirring. “Like I would.”
“Just making sure.” Coming over to the stove, Ryo checked on the pasta. “A few more minutes and we can dish up.”
“Good, ‘cause I’m starvin’.”
“You always are.”
