Summary: Ianto is exhausted from working full time while caring for Lisa.

A/N: Double drabble.




Ianto had thought he knew what it meant to be tired; now he realised how wrong he’d been. He was exhausted, and if not for coffee and the occasional power nap, he knew he wouldn’t be able to function at all.


Working for Torchwood Three was a full-time job. There were the alien residents, the Pteranodon, and the other team members to keep fed and watered, the Hub to be kept as clean and orderly as possible, Jack’s laundry and dry-cleaning to see to, filing to do, general maintenance of the Hub’s systems to be carried out and repairs made, the SUV to be detailed, and in any spare moments, the archives to be sorted, catalogued, and organised.


On top of all that, he had Lisa to care for, administering painkillers and sedatives, bathing her, feeding her intravenously, monitoring the life-support system he’d rigged up under her supervision… Then there was research into cybernetics specialists to be done. He had to find someone who could help Lisa, and soon; he couldn’t keep going like this indefinitely. An hour or two of sleep each night was nowhere near enough.


And now Jack wanted him to join the team in the field…
