A/N: Double drabble.
“Jack?” Owen’s voice came through Jack’s Bluetooth earpiece. “Meet us in the garage; we could use a hand.”
“On my way.”
Owen and Ianto had gone out an hour or so earlier on a Rift retrieval; if they needed his help then clearly whatever the Rift had brought them was giving them some difficulties.
He was waiting in the garage when the automatic concealed door opened and the SUV glided smoothly through the gap, into its regular parking space.
“So what did you find?” he asked as the driver’s side door opened. As far as he could tell, there was nothing big and unwieldy in the SUV’s boot.
“Nothing particularly exciting, just one of those Phrenix puzzle balls.” Owen had never yet managed to solve one.
“Why d’you need my help then?”
“I don’t, your boy toy does. Help ‘im down to the med bay and try not to jar his knee.”
Jack was instantly worried, swinging the passenger door open. “Ianto? What happened?”
“I tripped; it’s nothing.”
Owen snorted. “Tripped my arse.” He turned to Jack. “He was so engrossed in the bloody puzzle he wasn’t looking where he was going and put his foot down a rabbit hole.”
