Summary: Torchwood is a dangerous place to work.

A/N: Double drabble.




The Torchwood Hub was full of hazards for the unwary. From the many staircases and catwalks, the uneven concrete, and the electrical cables that were often stretched across the floor to the various weapons, bits of alien tech, and hostile aliens intent on invasion, it could be argued that just working there constituted an occupational hazard.


Some parts on the Hub held more potential dangers than others, the as yet unidentified items stored haphazardly in some areas of the archives for instance, and the invisible lift, because falling off that could seriously damage one’s health. Then there were the vaults, where rogue Weevils and other hostile aliens were housed, and the Pteranodon, who could get stroppy if chocolate was being consumed and she didn’t get her share.


Ianto explained all of this as he showed Torchwood’s two newest recruits around, pointing out the various hazards so the newcomers wouldn’t fall foul of any of them.


They weren’t unduly concerned until they saw Andy come hobbling through the Hub, leaning on a stick and with one arm in a sling.


“What happened to him? Was it a Weevil?”


Ianto shook his head. “He fell off the stepladder changing a light bulb.”
