Double Drabble: Country Idyll

Summary: Nosy, Jack, and Ianto are enjoying a day in the country.

A/N: Double drabble.




Nosy relished trips into the countryside. It had the roof garden outside the flat it shared with Jack and Ianto to play in, and that was lovely, but it wasn’t the same as getting out and about in nature. For one thing the grass wasn’t real, it was artificial stuff that was nice, dry, and comfy for rolling on but it couldn’t be nibbled. More importantly, there was little in the way of wildlife and the trees were far too small to climb.


This was Fluff heaven. The weather was sunny and warm without being too hot, the grass was long and fun to slither through, and the trees were just right. Even Ianto seemed to think so; he’d already scrambled up into the branches, shouting to Jack to “Catch me if you can!”


Jack wasn’t as good at climbing trees as Ianto, although he was doing his best. Taking pity on its friend, Nosy slithered up the tree trunk and coiled its long body around a sturdy branch, reaching down to grab Jack by the braces and help him up.


Once Jack was comfortably installed next to Ianto, Nosy swung from its branch, humming happily. This was the life!
