A/N: Triple drabble.
“We should go out tonight and celebrate!” Dee was fired up, raring to go; he and Ryo had just closed a big case, caught a murderer, and gotten a full confession. If that wasn’t reason to celebrate he didn’t know what was.
“You go celebrate if you want but I’m going home. I’m beat.” Ryo scooped up all their paperwork and took it through to the Chief’s office. When he got back, Dee was still standing there, mouth open.
“One of the biggest cases of our careers and you just wanna go home?”
“I’ll celebrate once the trial’s over and we get a conviction.”
“But that could take months! At least let me buy ya a drink!”
“I’d far rather go home and get an early night. Feels like I’ve barely seen my bed the past few weeks.”
“Boy, you sure know how to have fun,” Dee grumbled.
“I’m learning, but another lesson wouldn’t hurt.”
“So you don’t wanna go out to celebrate but…” Dee thought maybe he was starting to get the picture. “Okay, if that’s the way ya want it I’ll give ya a ride home.”
“Thanks, Dee.”
Much later, in Ryo’s bed, tangled together in the sheets after a very energetic first round, Dee studied his partner curiously.
“Ya know, you could’ve just told me this was how ya wanted to celebrate.”
Ryo blushed. “There were people around; I was trying to be discreet.”
“Don’t know about discreet, that was more like indecipherable.”
“And you say I’m oblivious! Turns out you can be just as clueless,” Ryo teased, leaning in for a kiss
“Maybe we should come up with some kinda code word for next time, so we’re both on the same page.”
“Why? Might’ve taken you a while but you got the message in the end.”
