A/N: Double drabble.
“No!” Ianto snapped, pushed to the brink of endurance by Gwen’s constant prying. “As I keep telling you, I have no idea where Jack’s gone. You were here when he vanished; I wasn’t, so how should I know if you don’t?”
“You were sleeping with him.”
“That’s none of your business, and anyway, it doesn’t mean he confided in me.”
“I don’t believe you. He must have told you something.” Gwen crossed her arms over her chest and blocked Ianto’s way, refusing to budge. “I want to know what.”
“Is there any answer I could give that would satisfy you?”
“The truth.”
“Which is what I’ve been telling you, repeatedly, but obviously that isn’t enough for you. Perhaps you’d like me to lie, tell you Jack just popped out for milk, there must be a queue at the supermarket, that’s why he’s been gone nearly a week. I can’t tell you what I don’t know, and if I DID know something, do you really believe I’d keep it to myself? Jack left, and honestly, after what we did I don’t blame him. Maybe he’ll come back, maybe not, but either way, you’re not helping.”
Ianto pushed past, leaving Gwen open-mouthed.

In other shows, you at least see the character struggle to elevate themselves. I'm thinking Laurel Lance from Arrow trying to fill her "dead" sisters shoes.
I don't pretend to know how the male mind works. That's what research from reliable sources are for. I guess it helps to have a brother for a guys point of view.
