Spoilers: Fragments, Reset, Exit Wounds – but with an AU twist.
Summary: They’re both scarred.
Disclaimer: I don’t own Torchwood, or the characters.
A/N: For mahmfic’s prompt ‘Scarred Love’
They both have scars, physical ones from bullet wounds and emotional ones from… well, from life taking every opportunity to kick them in the teeth.
Lost loves, parental neglect, imprisonment; few people come to Torchwood undamaged and they’re no exception.

It takes almost dying to make Owen notice Tosh, see her clearly for the first time. And just as he starts to consider a relationship with her, she almost dies at Gray’s hands. Saving her life cements the bond between them.
At night they trace each other’s scars tenderly.
Without them, they might not be where they are now. Together.

I think you can get more drama from people surviving against the odds and rebuilding their lives afterwards than from just killing people willy nilly.

I cannot understand how he could absolutely destroy some of the best characters scifi has ever produced, especially since they were spinoffs from another successful show.

Excuse me for butting in...
But I have to say that in some ways I'm actually really pleased RTD is completely clueless. If he'd made a better job of the show then yes we would have had more quality episodes to watch and it's a shame it's over. But the huge gaps in the writing and the untimely demise of it all has fuelled our imaginations and given rise to some truly brilliant fan fic! Even all these years later there are still new and original stories being created by fans for fans which I think is wonderful and would not have happened if the show had been allowed to run it's course and finish with a happily ever after like most shows do.
(But I wish we could have had a few more years of seeing it on screen with all the cast!)

Torchwood Three was full of damaged people, but they put each other back together again and saved lives, they never gave up.
