Double Drabble: Too Sweet

Summary: Ianto is annoyed with Jack for putting so much sugar in his coffee.

A/N: Double drabble.




Ianto wrinkled his nose in distaste as he watched Jack pile several spoonfuls of sugar into his mug.


“I don’t know how you can drink your coffee like that. You’ll completely drown out the flavour of the beans. All the effort I put into creating the perfect blend and you ruin it! It’s sacrilege!”


Jack paused with his fifth heaped spoonful poised above his mug.


“Sacrilege?”


“Coffee is supposed to taste of coffee, a full, rich flavour with a hint of bitterness. It’s not supposed to taste like syrup with a hint of coffee!”


“But I like things sweet.” Jack pouted at his lover.


“I’ve noticed. You like anything that’s ninety percent sugar, but that doesn’t excuse you for turning my finest blends into sickly sweet sludge. One or two spoonfuls I could perhaps overlook, but when you persist in adding six or more…” Ianto trailed off with a heartfelt sigh and a disappointed shake of the head. “You never used to use so much sugar but ever since you came back from your travels with the Doctor…”


“I was trying to hide the taste,” Jack admitted, shamefaced. “You were angry so I figured you were serving me decaf.”


“Twpsyn.”

OMG! I can imagine Jack pouting like a baby.
He did have a reason but Ianto wouldn't punish him so hard after such an awful year.

Jack really was panicking for nothing. Ianto is much too kind to inflict decaf on Jack when he's clearly been through something terrible. The rest of the team might not have noticed anything wrong, but Ianto has.
