A/N: Double drabble.
“What on earth have you been doing to get in this state?” Ianto asked, not expecting an answer and not getting one, or not one he could translate.
The Flufflets gave apologetic hums, Spot and Daisy patiently awaiting their turns as Ianto worked away at Squiggle’s tangles with one of the grooming brushes, teasing out the knots in its long, thick fur as carefully as he could.
“Anyone would think you’d been put through the washing machine,” he sighed. “I’d no idea Fluffs could get so knotted. I’ve never had this much trouble grooming Nosy.” He perked up slightly as the front door opened.
“Hi, honey, I’m home!” Jack called. Moments later, he came down the steps into the open-plan living room, padding across the carpet in his socks. “Where are the kids?”
“Out in the garden, keeping themselves busy while I sort out this mess.”
Coming closer, Jack stared at the knotty Flufflets in horrified fascination. “What did the Holy Terrors do this time?”
“I wish I knew, then maybe I could prevent it happening again. You wouldn’t like to help, would you? This is taking forever.”
“Say no more.” Jack grabbed brush and Flufflet and set to work.
