Title: Competition
Fandom: FAKE
Author:

Characters: JJ, Dee, Ryo.
Rating: PG
Setting: Vol. 1, Act 3.
Summary: JJ realises he’s got competition for more than just Dee’s heart.
Written Using: The dw100 prompt ‘Oust’.
Disclaimer: I don’t own FAKE, or the characters. They belong to the wonderful Sanami Matoh.
A/N: Double drabble.
Who the hell did Ryo Maclean think he was? They’d barely said two words to each other but already JJ hated him. Bad enough that he was trying to steal Dee’s affections away, but if he thought he’d oust JJ from his position as the best marksman… No way! He wasn’t that good. Sure, he’d managed to get all his shots pretty close together but JJ had done way better, a tight cluster in the center of the target. Beat that, sucker!
It was galling to find later the same day that Ryo did just that, taking a risky shot and saving the life of a hostage. JJ seethed less than silently, berating his new colleague for being so reckless; he hated being upstaged, and even worse, Dee was all over Ryo, fussing around him just because he had a bit of a cold. He’d never fussed over JJ that way, and it hurt. Sometimes JJ wondered why he still loved Dee so damned much.
Why does he keep ignoring me? Why can’t Dee see that I’m all he’ll ever need?
Whatever it took, JJ wasn’t going to be pushed aside. He’d prove to Dee who was the better man.
