Title: Gone
Fandom: BtVS
Author: [livejournal.com profile] badly_knitted
Characters: Joyce, Buffy.
Rating: PG
Written For: Challenge 046: Mind at doubledrabbles.
Spoilers/Setting: Becoming Part 2.
Summary: Buffy has run away and all Joyce wants is for her daughter to come home.
Disclaimer: I don’t own BtVS, or the characters. They belong to the wonderful Joss Whedon.
A/N: Double drabble.

Joyce is slowly going out of her mind; she doesn’t know her little girl anymore. Buffy claimed she’s a Slayer, whatever that is, insisted that vampires and demons are real, and that she had to stop her ex-boyfriend Angel from ending the world, or something. Maybe it’s Buffy who’s lost her mind; a bad break-up, especially after what happened between her parents, might have pushed her over the edge.

In retrospect, giving Buffy an ultimatum was the wrong way to handle things. If Joyce had tried to be more sympathetic and understanding, perhaps if she’d offered to go with her daughter to confront Angel instead of telling Buffy not to bother coming back if she left… Of all the times Joyce had screwed up as a parent that was hands down the worst. She hadn’t even meant it, not really; she’d simply been trying to shock her daughter back to reality, make her see sense. It had backfired spectacularly.

Now Buffy’s gone, run away from home. She must have slipped back during the night, thrown a few things in a bag, and left. Joyce has no idea where her daughter is, or if she’s okay.

She just wants Buffy back.

The End

Angel: Punished. (Cordy nods) For what?”
Cordelia: I don’t know. For what I was? For everything I said in High School just because I could get away with it?

Yes, she did embellish during her early mean/gossip girl days back at Sunnydale High. Which is why I liked her reluctant involvement with the "Scooby Gang". Charisma Carpenter said Buffy fans didn't approach her back then. She had a better character arc on "Angel". I'm ignoring series four, because that wasn't the real Cordelia.

Gunn: Listen, I spent most of this year trapped in what I can only describe as a turgid supernatural soap opera.

There were still a few highlights in season 4 (I accidently said series), but that wasn't it. However, it is interesting to see online people's analysis of that plot point.

Phebe Buffay[FRIENDS] No, I'm serious. I'm intuitive, but my memory sucks.

Oh is it? So far, I've only seen mutual statements or essay breakdowns. If I start to read something online that's unnecessarily negative, I'll just move on.

Sometimes, I feel the need for someone to clarify things further. You know, from a person who can be objective and informative.

I now have the urge to skim through my old psychology books again.

I just watched/listened to the Buffy Panel of 2011, and there was this awkward incident with a fan who was rude to Nicolas Brennan. She made Eliza Dusku uncomfortable, reluctant to answer her question. The person obviously lacked tact. Apparently she didn't like the character of Xander.*shrugs*

So this means that I tempted fate.*sighs*

I thought I was hearing things. Poor Nicolas went backstage momentarily.:(

Julie Benz: Just remember. We all have feelings.

What can I say about Riley that hasn't been said?*ponders*

Xander seemed to get along with Riley. I don't know.*shrugs*

Xander: He's like a big jungle cat...

The writers did a number on Riley. But it was understandable that Buffy wasn't emotionally available at that time and Riley took it badly. He had a decent sent off though.

Spike: Captain Cardboard*Refers to Riley*

I think that what happened with Parker beforehand didn't helped matters. I don't want to hate on Riley too much. Overall, I can't picture Buffy with any regular guy long term. Lets face it, Riley got some really dodgy dialogue and the jealous streak didn't help. He was nice to Dawn.*shrugs*

I also didn't like the Initiative story. The behind the scenes rewrites may have something to do with it. If that hadn't happen, I would have preferred Xander had become the insider. Given we had a hint of that potential in "Halloween".

Cordy: Angel. (Rude noise) I don't know. For a guy, who's a couple of centuries old - not very big with the wise investing. (Looks at the smiles on the furies faces) And when you say 'equipped' that isn't what you mean, is it?
Furies: Mmm, Angel.
Cordy: Got it. And 'eww!

Once you go Vamp, you never go back.*my own cheesy dialogue*

According to an interview with Marti Noxon, Professor Walsh was suppose to be the real Big Bad, not Adam. If that would have made things better plot wise, we will never know.

Speaking of Halloween...

Rick Castle: Looks like Buffy’s visiting the Big Apple.*Castle episode Vampire Weekend*

It would have been cool to see Xander excel in that! His role was to stay humble, I suppose.

Yep. Plus Angel as a puppet. He was so adorable. I wish Buffy had seen him like that.:)

Walsh wasn't even written for us to like her. Not even as I ploy. As far as I recall, she was rude to Buffy. So was the other Professor that told off Buffy on her first day of class. Was that suppose to be an example of the real world?*baffled*

Xander[To Giles]: You could just said, "shh"! God, are you Brits such drama queens?

True, he was the voice of reason. When he wasn't being a tad sarcastic.

Cuddly Angelus in "Sesame Street". That would be cool but scary for the kids.*imagining*

Yep. Reality check.

Precisely. Anya was also pretty sarcastic in her own way.

Yes. Count Dracula, numbers was his thing. Hence the name. I meant Angel without a soul. Could you imagine Angelus's attitude towards the kids?

Or maybe cavewoman Buffy meeting Angel puppet. My mind is going places.

Cavewoman Buffy: Buffy want beer.

Angel Puppet: I'm made of felt.

[Pause]

Yep.
