Title: Solving Puzzles
Author: [livejournal.com profile] badly_knitted
Characters: The Doctor.
Rating: G
Written For: Challenge 424: Puzzle Pieces at [livejournal.com profile] dw100.
Spoilers: Nada.
Summary: The Doctor loves having an interesting puzzle to solve.
Disclaimer: I don’t own Doctor Who, or the characters.

Mysteries were like jigsaw puzzles, and the Doctor loved puzzles of all kinds; there was so much satisfaction to be found in figuring out the solution!

Of course, mysteries were much harder to solve than jigsaw puzzles. For a start you never had a picture to show what you were working towards. Not only that, before you could figure out the solution you had to find all the pieces, and almost inevitably during your search you’d find lots of pieces that belonged to other puzzles and had nothing to do with yours, making mysteries even more fun to figure out.

The End

CLARA: It doesn't makes sense. He doesn't do puzzles. He isn't complicated. Really doesn't have the attention span.

Oh really?*confused*

I maybe overanalysing this quote.

So it wasn't just me? I found that line a bit odd. I'd rather Clara stop and say: Nah! Afterwards.*shrugs*

The scene where Clara and the Doctor are at the restaurant is very feminist of Sherlock and Watson. Maybe Moffatt got his productions confused.:D

You're always welcome.:)

There is a slight difference in how Eleven was portrayed when he made an appearance on SJA. Due to that story being written by RTD instead of Moffat.

Mind you, Moffat use to "ghost write" for RTD.

I'll probably go back and rewatch DW episodes just to see if I can spot where.:D

DW isn't the same since he left. Which is a shame. When I saw Thirteen put on a fez, it made me sad for Eleven.:(

Hence why I rewatch old episodes/snippets on Youtube for nostalgia.*sighs*

I miss them all.

I saw the first quarter of series 11 and got a few spoilers here and there from articles. You know its bad when you don't care about spoilers.*sighs*

I feel bad for the actors. I think the series has run its course.*sighs*

The series opener,“The Women Who Fell From The Sky” was pretty good. Considering you could forgive the actress for being abit here and there.

Technically she fell from the TARDIS. but I guess that's not quite a catchy title.

Twelfth Doctor: Laugh hard. Run fast. Be kind.*talking out loud to he's future self. Well, Thirteen anyways.

I only knew Jodie Whittaker from Broadchurch so was eager to see her acting range. I didn't understand why she has to be blonde and not ginger.

Ooh! I like Idris Elba. I saw him on the series "Luther" I remember there was a debate over whether he could play James Bond. Some said no because he isn't white.*shakes head*

*possible spoiler ahead*

Thirteen does meet her future self who is a black woman. That's the close as they are going with it I suppose.

Bare in mind, I didn't like the villain. The teeth. Yuk!

Yeah. It's like Yaz and Ryan are just there to tick the diversity card. I think on the lines of Rita from "The God Complex" and Rigsy 2.0.

I know Jodie can do grieving mother on Broadchurch. So being perky all the time is a little jarring.

Thirteenth Doctor: Honestly, if I was still a bloke, I could get on with the job and not have to waste time defending myself.*being accused of witchcraft*

It has to happen. Otherwise they are going to run out of potential white british men. If an Australian actor, (George Robert Lazenby) had a chance to play the role. Why not a black actor?

C: Don't be ridiculous, Franklin. I've read the files. The Doctor is a man.
Thirteen Doctor: I've had an upgrade. Hi.*me scratching head*

Yes. Why stop at a black actress? They could be bi-racial. But I'm still concern about the state of the recent series. No show. No role.

I know that aliens usually have to be distinctively different compared to humans. But toning down the gruesome wouldn't have hurt.*sighs*

I didn't like "Waters of Mars" and "Love and Monsters" for that very reason. Sure the latter was based on a kids drawing but the monsters abilities is what really pushed it.

When it's diverse, racism is not that far behind. When Ryan got slapped by that white guy from the "Rosa Parks" episode. It really annoyed me even if it was suppose to be accurate for its time.

Ironic that when Rory goes back in time. He is allowed to punch Hitler in the face. Because the plot called for it.

I think the problem with Thirteens characterisation is that she doesn't have anything to be emo about. The last of the Time lords was most of Nine, Ten and Eleven's story arc. Not including The Master. Then Twelve found Gallifrey towards the end of his story arc.

They had companions to be sad about etc. Thirteen doesn't have anything to fall back on. Like ambition or drive. Although I can't say much because I stopped watching.

Apparently "The Timeless child plot" is the mysterious part of the show. But obviously it doesn't effect Thirteen until its no longer a mystery.

I haven't seen the "Australian" Bond. Despite being from the same country. I should go look it up.

James Bond could be European. The options are endless. So long as the actor does his own take on it.:)

Man! I have waffled on for quite abit.*grins guiltily*

He was basically a pompous alien with a weird teeth fetish. I don't know how a writer comes up with ideas such as that.

Adelaide had no choice because it was a fixed point. She had integrity. But yeah, it was Tens bad attitude that put it in motion.:(

I like when shows try to do their take of a real life historical event. But I think they should have stuck with the music from that era. Like "Cold Case". Wasn't that an Adele song at the end?

Okay, I'm still working on it.

I remember there was a cartoon based on James Bond's nephew. But I don't remember James Bond having a brother.*head scratcher*

My favorite is the Rutans from "Horror on Fang Rock". Because they were blob aliens who struggled using stairs but managed walls successfully. I thought that was hilarious.:D

To think Clara thought Twelve was harsh etc. She didn't know Ten at his worse.*still misses Donna*

It's a good thing I didn't "sing" any Adele songs. I'm not a fan. Just familiar with her songs. I don't really like songs of this era.:(

I prefer songs before my time or ones I grew up with.*sighs*

"James Bond Junior". I guess it's just a thing to have a mysterious sibling for an iconic role. To expand the franchise*shrugs*

Dalek: Elevate.

They must have used a lift/elevator back in the old days.

Twelve: I let you get reckless.
Clara: Why? Why shouldn't I be so reckless? You're reckless..."

And trying to be exactly like the Doctor was her downfall.:(

Twelve: And because whatever song I heard first thing in the morning, I was stuck with.

Top that with earworm. That is such a strange way of stating a song you dislike getting stuck in your head. That usually happens when I overhear a song at the shops.

The only time where something that is suppose to assist less mobile people, becomes a disadvantage. It's sheer luck whenever someone manages not to get exterminated. Although sometimes its merely a matter of teleportation(Rose, Clara and even Missy were "zapped"). Talk about an emotional roller coater ride for us viewers.

Clara kind of lost her way. She was suppose to be a teacher and "carer". Only to snap out too late.

The song Twelve hates, is the one that my best friend in high school loved to sing all the time. They were playing it on the school bus once. I feel 20 years younger when I hear it.*flashback moment*

Yes to all!

What is a show without suspense and incidental music in the background.:)

My mum use to mute the TV when watching a scary movie despite having no subtitles. I'll just stop watching altogether if something is too loud or scary to look at.

Also, nothing kills the mood of watching an interesting show when you hear your neighbours lawnmower going on in the background. Watching something on TV is best when there's no one around or its night time.

Sometimes I do that. Although I hate that commercials are more louder to the actual program and startles it me.
