BtVS Drabble: Confused

Summary: Angel has no idea what’s going on, but Buffy is there so it has to be okay, right?

Angel’s confused. What is this place? Why’s he here? And why’s he holding a sword? Were he and Buffy battling some kind of demon? Why can’t he remember? Although…


Some demons can mess with memories; maybe that’s what happened. At least Buffy seems unaffected, and really that’s all that matters. He’s sure she’ll explain, but right now she seems more worried for him, and sad, like her heart’s breaking. He wants to tell her it’s okay, he doesn’t know what’s going on but he hasn’t forgotten her.


“Close your eyes,” she tells him, and he loves her, so he does.

Well, seems the demon he just summoned has been exorcized from him just a moment ago, as it turns out... or that's what I'd guess, theologically-speaking, just happened... and that might explain his confusion in this situation.

I enjoy those stories but also the bittersweet ones, too. And the heartbreak ones...I just like B/A. What can I say?

Buffy: Tell me what? Xander: (pauses to think) Kick his ass.

I was sad for Buffy. Annoyed at Xander.

Xander always resented Angel, but even if he'd told Buffy the truth she would still have had to kill Angel because it was the only way to close the portal. =(

I guess it sucked either way. The way Sarah played Buffy's confusion when Angelus turned back.:(

I don't think Xander was called out on he's actions. He was never good at romantic relationships.*sighs*

He was much better at loyalty as a friend. When he wasn't thinking about his own desires.

Buffy: Hmm, I know you don't, that's 'cause you're my friend. You're my
Xander-shaped friend! (leans her head on his shoulder) Do you have any
idea why I love you so, Xander?

Willow: We got to to get her to a...

Xander: (stops Willow with a gesture) Let her speak!

Buffy: I'll tell you! You're not like other boys at all.

Xander: Well...

Buffy: You are totally, and completely one of the girls! (to Willow)
I'm that comfy with him.

Xander: That's great.*sarcastic*

Buffy: Any other guy who'd give me a bracelet, they'd... wanna date me,
and be like a...

He didn't treat his girlfriends very well. Cheats on Cordelia with Willow. Jilted Anya at the altar. I guess it was part of the storyline.*shrugs*

I don't think of that one kiss as cheating. Xander and Willow were best friends and they believed they were going to die. It was more of a comfort thing, throwing caution to the wind because this was apparently the end for them. It wouldn't have led anywhere, and it's just too bad that Cordelia showed up to rescue them when she did.

As for getting cold feet at the wedding, that could happen to anyone. Xander just wasn't as ready to be married as he'd thought and he panicked. It didn't mean he didn't love Anya, it was just such a huge step.

I guess they were trying to fight their attraction towards each other. Talk about bad timing when they were in a relationship with other people.*shrugs*

Oh the drama...

Cordelia getting seriously injured too. Then that cutaway to a cemetery where it looked like she died. But then didn't. Sneaky Joss Whedon. That was one mini-emotional rollercoaster ride.*phew*

Once again. Bad timing. Anya was completely devastated. They sort of found their way back towards each other later on but then Anya dies.:(

Xander was never attracted to Willow though, it was very one-sided until that moment. People do crazy things when they think they're about to die.

Yeah, so sad about Anya.

Xander: Okay, well, let me ask you this: what are they gonna know? That we're friends. Old, old friends. And maybe we've had one or two indiscretions, but that's all past. Look. We're just very good friends who like to hang out, and can I kiss your earlobe?

Willow: No! Well, okay. (jerks away) No! (holds up the dispenser) PEZ! They both pause for a moment to calm down and think.

Well it looked like it was manifesting slightly beforehand in my eyes.*tries to pay detective*

Buffy say's love makes you do the wacky, but I think this was purely infatuation.*shrugs*

Why did Anya have to die in the end? Why? :(

I think maybe it's Xander's jealousy again. Willow has a boyfriend so suddenly Xander is interested in her as a girl.

Why did Tara have to die?

I'm just glad they went back to staying friends only. The dynamic was better that way.

Of course. The way Tara died was so shocking. Especially after the whole "Glory" stuff. I was scared that Tara was going to stay that way. Then she got better, but Joss Whedon had to write her out!*annoyed*

I wasn't fond of how Fred died in the Angelverse either. So frustrating that I get worked up over these amazing female characters.*thinks of own emotional attachments.

It's always difficult, getting attached to a character who gets killed off. At least Joss always had a reason and the consequences wren't just swept under the rug. I don't enjoy character deaths but I respect the way Joss handled each one, making it have impact that affected the plot. The deaths weren't gratuitous.
