Doctor Who Drabble: Wrong

Summary: The Doctor doesn’t want Jack anywhere near him.
Disclaimer: I don’t own Doctor Who, or the characters.




He’d liked Jack when they’d first met, disapproved of his ways but still, he’d been a decent enough sort, if a bit over-friendly. A rough diamond perhaps, someone the Doctor could polish into shape given enough time. He’d been a good travelling companion, entertaining with his outrageous stories, and he’d certainly been brave, willing to throw himself into danger to help others, but now…


The Doctor can scarcely bear to be near him, never mind look at him. Jack is wrong, a fixed point, something that shouldn’t exist.


He wants Jack gone, to never have to look upon him again.

I thought Danny wasn't in the right place to judge the Doctor. But he wasn't that far off either.

Jack deserved some hugs after being treated that way.

Perhaps he wasn't, but the Doctor does need to be called on some of the things he does.

Yeah. The one that springs to mind is the mistreatment of Harriet Jones. Ten thought he had the higher ground.

Danny couldn't understand Clara's loyalty because he didn't know the Doctor as Eleven. Just imagine if he met Ten. That would have been quite a stand-off.*ponders*

Yeah, Eleven was so much easier to get along with than Twelve. Ten would have been almost as insulting as Twelve was.

It would have been a battle of the ego's with Ten. Eleven would probably be in a state of awkwardness. Trying not to offend. I felt that Danny had resentment towards his superiors as a soldier and was taking it out on the Doctor. Although it didn't help that Twelve was still at his most abrasive during this point. Maybe if they had met in series 10, things could have been less conflicting between them.

There was also rivalry between them for Clara's attention. The Doctor expected her to drop everything to go with him whenever he wanted her to, and Danny naturally expected her to be with him in mind as well as body when they were on dates, not thinking about another man.

Eleven: Why?
Clara: Because tomorrow, I might say yes. Sometime after seven okay for you?
Eleven: It's a time machine. Any time's okay.

Twelve to Bill: I'll see you at 6pm every weekday. I don't care who's dying, never, ever be late. I'm very particular about time.

I couldn't even keep my personal life separate from my TAFE life no matter how hard I tried! :D

Yes, exactly. Although with Bill Twelve was at first the busy university professor giving her tuition so demanding she be on time for classes wasn't so unusual. It would have been the same if she's been an official student at the university. You show up on time for classes if you want to learn.

Twelve had more patience with staying in one spot or maybe moonlighting as a professor was a nod to Clara's influence as a teacher. Subconsciously at that point. It was later on that he got an itch to travel with Bill even though he was suppose to be guarding the vault. It was so mysterious when we didn't know that Missy was in it.

Some students at the TAFE I went to treated class like a supermarket. Where they'd come and go at whatever time.*shrugs*

Yes, he did, but the old wanderlust was bound to resurface in the end.

I guess they weren't that serious about learning then.

TAFE is an institute designed for job training or a stepping stone to a university degree. I could tell that it frustrated some of the teachers.

That kind of behaviour would be unacceptable at University, let alone how you'd behave in the workplace.

Exactly! They're setting themselves up for a fall. They'll never succeed in life if they don't take their education opportunities seriously.
