Double Drabble: Braced

Summary: Ianto is worried that his injury is going to cause problems.

A/N: Double drabble.




“This is ridiculous, Owen!” Ianto grumbled. “How am I supposed to do my job like this? Going up and down stairs will be a nightmare and there’s no way I can drive. I can’t bend my leg!”


“You’re not supposed to bend it, that’s why you’re wearing the brace; to keep your knee straight,” Owen explained with strained patience. “It provides support and restricts movement, allowing the damaged joint to heal. Now shut up and stop whining. It only has to stay on for two or three weeks. After that you’ll have a few weeks of physio to strengthen the muscles and ligaments. Should be as good as new in three months at the outside.”


“Months!” Ianto exploded.


“Think yourself lucky; that alien weapon did a lot of damage, if you didn’t have me for a doctor you’d be spending the rest of your life walking with a stick. As it is, thanks to this beauty…” Owen patted the alien tech he’d used to repair Ianto’s knee, “you’ll make a full recovery, provided you keep the brace on.”


“Don’t worry, Ianto, it’ll be fine,” Jack reassured his lover, winking. “You can just lay back and leave the driving to me.”

Jack will take care of Ianto, supporting and comforting him, making it easy as possible for him, He'll also make sure the others clean up after themselves so Ianto isn't upset by the mess
