Double Drabble: Impressive Views

Summary: Jack brings the latest recruits into the Hub for the first time.

A/N: Double drabble.




Jack always loved showing new recruits around, bringing them down on the invisible lift to give them their first look at their new workplace from above, or pressing the button beneath the tourist office desk, unveiling the secret entrance behind the false section of wall. He had a flair for the dramatic, enjoying the gasps of awe and wonder. Ianto sometimes wondered if Jack fancied himself a sort of magician, pulling the metaphorical rabbit out of the hat. He was definitely a showman of some description.


There were three recruits this time so Jack led them in via the tourist office. Juggling three newbies on the invisible lift was risky; not everyone had a head for heights and it wouldn’t be a promising beginning if someone fell off and broke their neck.


Nevertheless they were suitably awed, staring around themselves in amazement before Jack drew their attention back to himself.


“Welcome to the Hub!” he announced dramatically, flinging his arms wide and giving the recruits an even more impressive view.


Ianto rolled his eyes. “Jack, how many times do I have to tell you to put some clothes on under your coat?”


“But it’s Naked Thursday!”


“Only in your head.”

Happy again. Recruiting for a new team, but Jack and Ianto together as it should be. Only Jack could get away with that, but the recruits will really appreciate the view, something they.'ll have to get used to. They'll never get the same view of Ianto
