A/N: Double drabble and a half, 250 words.

Waking up is disorienting; the daylight is coming from the wrong direction, behind him instead of in front, even though he’s laying on his right side. The last time that happened Ryo was in hospital, but the bed he’s in isn’t a narrow, hard hospital bed, in fact it feels exactly like his own luxuriously soft king-size, while the room smells faintly of fresh paint instead of the antiseptic odour that permeates all hospitals.

It’s the smell that brings it all back to him. He’s at Dee’s place, but this is Dee’s new bedroom. It’s not in the same place as the old one, and it’s not just Dee’s bedroom anymore; it’s theirs.

He opens his eyes and smiles at the sight of Dee, sprawled face down and still asleep beside him; it’s their first morning living together in the apartment they now share. It might take a bit of getting used to, the whole apartment has been reorganised as well as extended, but they’ve been working together to get it just right and the end result is definitely well worth all the effort they’ve put in.

Best of all, they’re not working today, so there’s no need for Ryo to get up yet; he can lie here and luxuriate in the comfort of not having anywhere he needs to be, or anything he absolutely has to do.

Snuggling deeper beneath the covers he closes his eyes again. Dee has the right idea; this is a day for sleeping in.
