Title: Victory - Sequel to ‘Early Thaw’

Author: [livejournal.com profile] badly_knitted

Characters: Ianto, Team, mentions Jack

Rating: PG

Written For: Challenge 302 - Thaw at [livejournal.com profile] tw100

Spoilers: None.

Summary: The Ice Demons meet their end.

Disclaimer: I don’t own Torchwood, or the characters.

It’s not an easy battle, but it’s mercifully short, although merciful for whom is debatable.

The Ice Demons showed Jack no mercy, they’re shown little in return, but at least they don’t have time to suffer the way Jack did. Ianto supposes that’s a kind of mercy.

Flamethrowers are brutal but efficient, lasers slice cleanly, fire grenades…

They only use one; they have more but they’re simply not needed. The Ice Demons misjudged humanity; thought them easy targets.

They found out too late they were wrong.

Victory brings Ianto no joy, just the grim satisfaction of a job well done.

TBC in ‘Cleanup

See, messing with Jack brings out Ianto Terminator and gets your ass terminated!

These aliens deserved no mercy after what they did. It's a good thing for Earth it was Torchwood who came up against them first. They knew just how to handle the nasty little buggers. I so love Kickass!Ianto,.

I'm sure he did not enjoy it just by simple revenge .. he is fierce but fair

I just finished reading the this and the other drabbles with it, and it's such a great little series with more feeling in it than some longer stories. Looking forward to the next part.

I could almost feel sorry for the Ice Demons, but not after what they did to Jack. BIG mistake on their part.

And the moral is: Don't mess with Torchwood, especially their Captain. You'll only piss off the Teaboy.

As the Doctor once said about Earth "It is defended."
Great drabble.

I find it quite plausible that Ianto takes no joy in blowing up the demons with a fire grenade--he's too empathetic for that, even when he has a very personal reason for revenge. However, the sadistic bastards did ask for it. Beings with those powers and that level of cruelty simply cannot be allowed to roam the Earth.

Well-done, Team!

Torchwood are not killers, just protectors of the Earth. Sometimes it requires to kill dangerous beings to humanity.
