Summary: Buffy ran away to escape what she’d done, but the memories followed her.

A/N: Double drabble.




Buffy had left Sunnydale to escape what she’d done. It had been her fault that Angel had turned evil again, her fault that Angelus had joined forces with Spike and Drusilla to resurrect the Judge, her fault that her friends had been attacked, Ms Calendar killed, and Willow injured.


Facing her friends after all that had been bad enough, but she’d still had the opportunity to make things right, and she had, as far as possible. She’d gone to do battle with Angelus, knowing she had to prevent him from raising Acathla and having the whole world sucked into Hell.


Only she’d been a little too late, the sucking had already started and the only way to stop it was to kill Angelus, something she’d been perfectly willing to do…


Why did Willow’s spell to restore Angel’s soul have to work right then? She’d had no choice, but killing him had been like stabbing herself through the heart.


Since then, every time she slept he was there, in her dreams. Even running away offered no escape.


“I love you, I always will, but I have to let you go, before I go out of my mind. If I haven’t already.”
