Title: Danger, UXB
Author:
badly_knitted
Characters: Jack, Ianto.
Rating: G
Written For: Challenge 593: Champion at
tw100.
Spoilers: Nada.
Summary: Ianto needs help from his valiant steed.
Disclaimer: I don’t own Torchwood, or the characters.
A/N: Double drabble.
It was amazing how quickly situations could go from bad to worse, especially when working for Torchwood and dealing with alien technology.
The Rift spike had been minor, so Jack and Ianto had decided to handle it themselves instead of calling the rest of the team. It was late and everyone else had gone home a couple of hours ago; why drag them back when they probably wouldn’t be needed? They’d headed out to Cefn Mabley Woods, parking as close as they could and walking the rest of the way.
Unfortunately, Ianto had been paying too much attention to his scanner and not enough to where he was going, and had slipped into a hole, twisting his ankle.
It might not have been so bad except that when they found what they were looking for, it turned out to be a bomb, and it was counting down to the alien equivalent of zero.
“Not good,” Jack said. “Run!”
“I can’t! My ankle!”
Thinking fast, Jack crouched. “On my back!”
“What?”
“Think of me as Champion the Wonder Horse.”
They reached cover just in time to avoid being blown up.
“My hero,” Ianto panted.
“Do I get a sugar lump?”
“Twpsyn.”

Than you.
