Title: The Scarf - Sequel to ‘Compulsion’

Summary: Tosh wears her nice new handmade scarf, which gets admired.

Disclaimer: I don’t own Torchwood, or the characters.

A/N: Still for angelsphonebox’s prompt ‘Knitting’, but also for all the commenters and reviewers who said pretty much the same thing. I’m sure you can guess what I’m talking about, LOL! This one’s a double drabble.

After almost two days, the team finally succeeded in turning the device off.

Once the compulsion to knit wore off a few hours later, Ianto talked Tosh through casting off and they measured the finished scarf, which turned out to be just over 7 metres long.

Despite it falling far short of breaking any records, Tosh was still proud of her achievement. It was the first thing she’d ever knitted so she intended to wear it, even if it was rather long. Cardiff could get very cold in winter, but wrapped in her scarf she was sure to stay warm.

The following morning, Tosh grinned to herself as she wrapped her new scarf around her neck several times as protection from the bitterly cold Cardiff morning, before setting off to work.

Leaving her building, she hurried towards the bus stop and almost immediately ran headlong into a strange, tall man.

“I’m so sorry!” she exclaimed. “I wasn’t looking where I was going.”

“Nonsense, my dear, it was entirely my fault,” he replied. “Oh, I say, I do like your scarf. It’s just like mine!” He beamed at her approvingly, then dug in his pocket. “Would you like a jelly baby?”

LOL! Thank you, I grew up with the third and fourth Doctors. My childhood was filled with long scarves and Jelly Babies! I'm still rather fond of both!

You never know what could happen when you're wearing his scarf! He seems to be irresistibly drawn to people waering it, if what happened to Tosh is any indication!

Thank you, I'm glad you liked it, especially as it ended up de-railing the original idea that you gave me of someone knitting the scarf for Nosy, which was why I wrote 'Compulsion', to set the scene.

But you know the Doctor. When he heard people mentioning him, he decided it was time for him to make another guest appearance. I think the 50th anniversary special has gone to his head. Anyway, he was very persistent so I had to do as I was told. o_O

Eeee! Love it! Tosh and Four? Now THERE would be a meeting of the minds, for sure. :D

On a related note, I ate so many Jelly Babies when I visited the U.K. I actually got a little ill. We don't have them here but there they seemed to be in every little roadside shop and big grocery. I might have overdid it a little... :-p

Jelly babies are ubiquitous over here - I've bought a box of them for my cousin's little boy for Christmas, because... Jelly Babies! My friend and I always had Jelly Babies when we went ice skating. It's hard for us Brits to imagine a place where they don't exist!

Glad you liked it! I haven't watched Four for a very long time, so I hope he was in character. He and Three were my Doctors growing up. This is the first time I've posted any Doctor Fic, though I have some Eleven in an as yet unposted fic.
