A/N: Double drabble.

As the gunshot echoed through the filthy back alley, Dee stood frozen in shock, horrified by what he’d just done. He still couldn’t quite believe he’d pulled the trigger and as reaction set in, his hands began to shake. He hurriedly lowered the gun, flicking the safety on before his trembling fingers could accidentally pull the trigger again.

Dee’s legs felt shaky too and he wondered if he was about to faint. He sat down instead, not caring what he might be sitting in. Ryo was still standing there, in a shaft of moonlight, blessedly still alive.

‘No thanks to me,’ Dee thought. ‘What was I thinking? I could’ve killed him!’ That was the last thing Dee would ever have wanted, and yet he’d come perilously close, just because he was angry, wanting revenge on the man who’d hurt Mother. That was no excuse; Ryo was the last person who deserved to bear the brunt of Dee’s rage.

Looking up at his partner, Dee watched as Ryo wiped blood from the graze on his cheek. It was a minor wound, but it could have been so much worse. Dee knew he needed to apologise, but where could he even begin?
