I'm Knackered...

So, I finally managed to go out (first time in about 9 weeks), sort out financial stuff and do some shopping. I think I was out a little under 4 hours. Road works for The Tram That No One Wants have screwed everything up, getting in and out of the carpark near the post office is a nightmare, so it was not fun. Add to that my right hip and knee do not like me right now so I hobbled everywhere, massively laden with bags because of course we need EVERYTHING and it's nearing Christmas so I had to grab some suitable things for presents for the neighbours who have been so much help... I hauled the lot home, the nrealised I didn't get anything suitable for my Uncle, my cousin, his partner and their two children...

DAMMIT! I DO NOT WANT TO GO OUT AGAIN THIS YEAR!

Not surprisingly, I'm knackered. My feet are throbbing, my back aches, my shoulders hurt from lugging bags and I still have to clean the fire out again, and do a pile of washing up =(

On a brighter note, something I bought off ebay arrived.

I wanted some pompoms - I'd knitted a nose warmer for one of our carers, and put a pompom on the end - she loved it - but I only had two pompoms to choose from, so I thought I could do with a few more. I found I could buy a pack of 100 assorted sizes, or a pack of 300 for less than twice the price, so naturally I went for the 300 - I'm sure I can find uses for them. I was expecting a nice little package, so you should have seen my face when what I got was a sack half the size of a pillow! Ah well, pompoms are useful, maybe I can use them to decorate the Christmas Tree, lol!

My face was a picure! I told mum "I thought it was only going to be a small bag!"

Yesterday was completely exhausting and it'll take me at least three days to recover - which is one of ther resons I don't go out much. My stomach is bad today because of yesterday. I won't be able to eat much today, or tomorrow either.

Last night wasn't all that restful either and I got up this morning stiff as a board. Then I had to change the sheets on mum's bed, with the assistance of the carer and I spent all morning finishing the Christmas cards for overseas. If you'd like one, PM me!

The carpark I use is so disorganised, the usual exit is closed off. I had no idea how to get out, so I followed a police car - figured they must know the way, LOL!

I can imagine, yeah. :) Still, it's good to have a stock in for crafts, kind of like me and notebooks. Never know when you'll need some.

I know how you feel. It's almost noon here and I just woke up and feel like I could sleep another three hours. Think I might be trying to flare. Hope you have something around you were able to eat.

Thank heavens for the carers. I'm glad you didn't have to do the sheets all on your own. A card would be lovely, I'll do that.

*grins* They probably do, unless they're doing something our police do, and that's make their own exit rather than follow the law for the carpark. *snickers*

They seemed to go the right way, so it was okay, lol! The car park is beside the council offices and the police have just moved in there from the old police station (which is no doubt being demolished to make way for the bloody tram, grrrr!)

I've nibbled a bit, still not feeling great though.

I'm a demon for stocking up with craft stuff. I can't resist bargains if they're something I can use! Trouble is, with everything I've bought, I'm sure my hand made Christmas cards are the most expensive ever, lol!

*grins* That works then. I just can't get over how much they're tearing down to make this new tram for you guys. It boggles the mind.

Still, it's awesome to have the stock pile on hand when you want to work on something. I've had to cut back on notebooks because of the move, but I'm horrible about starting projects in different ones and then misplacing them.

My writing notes are just scrawled anywhere they'll fit in old notebooks, I'm not terribly well organised. I did by some new notebooks while I was out though, just the cheap spiral bound kind that I can tear pages out when I've used what I've written.

The whole town is being destroyed for something none of the locals want. we're losing green areas, long-established shops (Wilkinsons was there 40 years or more!) and vital amenities (bus station, public toilets, multi-storey car park). Businesses on Chilwell Highroad are closing because customers can't get to them easily with the road closed for over a year. People have to drive all around the moon to reach the opposite end of a street that you could walk the length of in 5 minutes. It's a complete and utter mess, there'll be nothing left soon.

Those are the best types of notebooks and usually what I use, if only because they're light-weight and don't put a strain on my bad shoulder when I'm carrying a couple of them. :)

It's just so sad that they're doing that. It makes no sense at all.

I know, it's ridiculous. I can't help suspecting someone's been taking bribes to make this tram route happen. =(
