“Trick or Treat!” three kids in their early teens shouted as Dee got out of his car outside the brownstone where he lived.
Dee scowled at them; after the day he’d had this was the last thing he needed!
“You’ve gotta be kiddin’ me. Halloween’s not until next week!”
“So what?” one of the kids said. “Gotta start early these days if you wanna get the best candy.”
“Get outta here, come back on the thirty-first and maybe there’ll be something for ya, if you’re lucky.”
Next morning, Dee left his apartment to find his car had four flat tires…
