Ianto picked up his phone on the third ring, not bothering to check who was calling. This late at night there was only one person it was likely to be. “Jack. What’s up?”
“Got a bit of a situation. I need you down at the docks, fast as you can get here.”
“On my way. Want me to call the rest of the team?”
“No, I’ll do it. Not much else I can do while I’m waiting.”
By now Ianto was out of bed and half dressed. “Okay, should be there in fifteen minutes.” He hung up, pulled a sweater over his head, and hurried down the stairs, shoving his feet into trainers and grabbing coat and car keys on his way out the door.
He was the first of the team to arrive at the docks, parking beside the SUV. Jack was nowhere in sight. Slipping his bluetooth earpiece into place, Ianto clicked the button. “Jack? Where are you?”
“Fletcher’s Wharf. Grab the anti-gravity clamps. And hurry.” Jack sounded breathless.
“What happened?” Ianto asked when he reached Jack’s position.
“I don’t know. It gurgled then it fell on me,” Jack gasped from underneath an enormous dead alien.
“Only you.”

Date: 2019-09-17 04:44 am (UTC)I hope you are doing well. I think of you often and wonder why I don't come on here more often. Alex is growing up. 14 years old and taller than me now. Talk to you soon,

Date: 2019-09-17 10:26 am (UTC)Yes, only Jack has that kind of bad luck, lol! He's a bit squished but will be fine once he doesn't have a dead alien on top of him.
You'd best make sure to let me know when you do move, and PM me your new address. I'll be glad when you're out of that place, it's not helping your stress levels. I can't believe how fast Alex is growing! 14 already...
I'm battling on, health still not good and life keeps dumping stuff on me I don't need. Collin dislocated two fingers earlier this year, needed surgery, and 8 weeks in plaster. He's still doing physio and his hand will probably never be as strong as before but he's doing okay.
Talk to you soon!
