A/N: Double drabble.
Jack scowled as Owen finally put in an appearance, almost an hour and a half after the rest of the team had responded to his phone call telling them it was an emergency and to get to the Hub on the double.
“Where’s the fire?” he asked, sauntering in like he had all the time in the world.
“If there’d been a fire,” Suzie snapped, “we’d have all been burnt to a crisp by now.”
“Well you look fine to me; guess I wasn’t needed after all.”
“Fine?” Jack roared. “Look again!”
Suzie had a large bruise blossoming on her cheekbone, and was favouring her right leg, while Tosh had a bloodstained tear in one sleeve of her blouse, a ragged gash just visible through it.
“Should’ve taken them to Casualty.”
“Why,” Jack said in a low and dangerous voice, “would I do that when I have a doctor on staff who is being paid good money to deal with injuries to the team?”
Owen sighed. “Suppose that means I’ve got to patch them up.”
“That’s your job! And Owen? Next time you decide to roll in here any time you please, you’ll be the LATE Owen Harper!” Jack retorted.
The End
